Beginner to Intermediate Forklift Course (2-3 days, depending on competency)

OHSCER207A - Operate a Forklift Truck (LF) 

Our most popular course! This course is perfect for those with forklift experience (but are unable to put together a 40hr log book) to those without any forklift experience.

This course is a complete Forklift training and licensing package held in a simulated work environment. NO experience necessary and NO log book necessary.

As this is competency-based assessment, if students need extra training to pass their exams and become competent operators, they are invited back for more training at no extra cost! *100% pass rate!!*

Course includes:

• full log book training on a range of forklift machines (often around 10 machines to choose from, even more!)
• all course documents
• forklift training log book & training plan
• forklift assessment
• Statement of Attainment and Assessment Summary

Course Times

Monday to Wednesday (held each week) at 42 Paisley Dr, Lawnton.

Time: 9am - 3pm

*If Monday is a Public Holiday, the course will commence on the Tuesday to Thursday, 9am - 3pm*

Prerequisites:

• Over the age of 18
• Able to read and write basic English (as per Workplace Health and Safety requirements)

Course Outcomes

Following a successful assessment, the learner will be legally able to operate a forklift. At the completion of the course they will receive a Statement of Attainment and an Assessment Summary Form (AS1), and will need to lodge this, together with the forklift licensing fee ($70.10) to Australia Post to obtain a new photographic licence. 

What to bring:

• Driver's Licence or Passport
• Enclosed shoes/ steel caps (no thongs) 

Other Information

FMS understands that each student has differing skills, abilities and requirements, which is why some students may need more time to achieve competency in the forklift operations course. Should more time be required, FMS will happily invite the student back for more training AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.

Order Picker Beginners Course

OHSCER208A - Operate an Order-Picking Forklift Truck (LO)

This course is a complete Order Picker (LO) training and assessment package.

Course includes:

• full log book training on the Order Picker Forklift,
• all course manuals and documents,
• order picker training log book & training plan,
• LO assessment
• Statement of Attainment.

Wednesday to Friday (held each week)

Time: 9am - 3pm

Prerequisites:

• Over the age of 18
• Able to read and write basic English (as per Workplace Health and Safety requirements)

What to bring:

• Photo ID (Drivers Licence/ Passport- see course prerequisites)
• Enclosed shoes (No thongs)

DIY Log Book Forklift Course (1.5 days + 40hr log book)

This 1.5-2 day course is designed for students with access to a forklift in order to log 40 hours in a Workplace Health and Safety QLD Log Book. The course includes theory and practical refresher training (mandatory) as well as a theory and practical assessment for a Forklift Licence.

Day 1: Forklift theory, safety, and practical training. Training plan and Log book issued to students.

Day 2: (date TBA by student) Student returns to complete their assessments after a log book (of 40 hours) is completed at their workplace.  

Course Times

Courses are held each week, Mondays, Tuesdays, (and some Saturdays).

Time: 9am - 3pm

Prerequisites:

• Access to your own forklift (to log hours in a log book)
• Reference letter (on company letterhead from supervisor/ employer- detailing forklift driving history - Who, What, When, Where, How, etc)
• Over the age of 18
• Able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)

What to bring:

• Photo ID (Drivers Licence/ Passport)
• Enclosed Shoes
• 40hr Log book (bring to practical assessment day)
• Reference letter (from supervisor/ employer to validate forklift driving history)

2 Day Experienced Stock Picker Course

 OHSCER208A - Operate an Order-Picking Forklift Truck (LO)

This 2 day course is for experienced order picker operators only and includes Refresher Training (mandatory) as well as an Assessment for a Order Picker (LO) Licence.

Course Times

Courses are held each week, Wednesday & Thursday.

Time: 9am - 3pm

Prerequisites:

• Completed Workplace Health and Safety Log book (with 40hours LO experience- signed off by a licensed supervisor)
• Reference letter (on company letterhead from supervisor/ employer- detailing order picker driving history - Who, What, When, Where, How, etc)
• Over the age of 18
• Able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)

What to bring:

• Photo ID (Drivers Licence/ Passport)
• Enclosed Shoes
• 40hr Log book
• Reference letters

Refresher Course (Licensed Forklift Operator)

This course is highly recommended for all Australian licensed forklift drivers to complete on an annual basis. All Occupational Health and Safety managers should ensure that each forklift driver undertakes a refresher course regularly. It is unfortunate to note that there have been many accidents in Queensland over the past few years as many drivers pick up bad habits in the workplace or forget important safety information, or haven't even had the correct training in the first place. 

The course we offer is designed to update the operator in all aspects of forklift operation, practice theory and legislation. 

A duration of 4 hours is needed for this course.

 Course structure:

• Introductions
  
• Review of Workplace Health and Safety
• Forklift safety - incl. DVD 'How not to operate' The Dangers of Not Operating Forklifts Safely
• Review of Forklift operator safe work practices do's and don'ts
• Theory and practical skills test

Course Times:

Each Monday, 9am - 12pm

On Completion:

All students will receive a Certificate of Completion as they will be updated on all the current elements associated with the OHSCER207A Operate a Forklift Truck (as a part of the 30496 QLD Course in Loadshifting).
